The 2026 NYC Neuromodulation Conference

From July 30 to August 3, 2026, more than 800 scientists, clinicians, engineers, and industry partners came to Shepard Hall at The City College of New York for the 2026 NYC Neuromodulation Conference, hosted by the Bikson Lab. Since 2013, NYC Neuromodulation has been a leading meeting for neuromodulation and brain technology, and this year’s conference was the largest international meeting of 2026 on the technology and science of brain interfaces.

The conference opened on July 30 with pre-conference workshops on the fundamentals of tDCS, computational modeling of brain stimulation, and the design of addiction neuromodulation trials. The main program ran July 31 through August 2, followed by satellite symposia on August 3 and 4.

This year’s themes included:

  • Targeting with noninvasive brain stimulation: electrical, magnetic, and ultrasound

  • Accelerated and higher-intensity stimulation protocols

  • New technology for deep brain and spinal cord stimulation

  • Autonomic and immune neuromodulation

  • TMS personalization and image-guided targeting

  • Computational modeling

  • How brain state shapes stimulation outcomes

  • Home-based neuromodulation

  • Evoked responses as signatures of effective stimulation

Sessions spanned adaptive and closed-loop neuromodulation, bidirectional brain-computer interfaces, ultrasound neuromodulation, vagus nerve stimulation, neurotechnology for women’s health, and bringing new brain interface technology to market.

Day-long poster sessions gave researchers at every career stage a chance to share new work. Abstracts were published in the conference book, and selected abstracts were presented as Oral Highlight talks on the main stage.

Marom Bikson served as a conference co-chair, and members of the Bikson Lab helped organize the meeting, including on the abstract and accessibility committees. Lab members also took the stage and the poster floor throughout the week, presenting talks and posters on their latest research.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the next NYC Neuromodulation Conference in 2028!
